Meet the 3D-printed self-watering planter in the “Wave” style—thoughtfully designed out of genuine love for plants and a passion for propagating Hoyas and Alocasias. Each planter is made to order and includes a clear inner pot with a pre-installed wick, creating a reliable self-watering environment that helps maintain consistent moisture levels without the risk of overwatering.

This setup is especially ideal for semi-hydro growing, encouraging stronger, healthier root development while reducing the need for frequent watering—perfect for both beginners and experienced plant collectors alike.

Designed with both function and aesthetics in mind, the Wave style offers a clean, minimal look with a subtle twist. These planters are personally used throughout my own collection, and their durability and performance have been thoroughly tested over time. Built to be sturdy and reliable, they’re made to support your plants as they grow and thrive.

About Z-Seams

If you’ve purchased 3D-printed planters before, you may have noticed a vertical line of tiny dots on the surface of the print. These are called Z-seams—they form where the printer starts and stops each layer.

Z-seams tend to be more noticeable on cylindrical designs such as planters. Sample close-up photos are included in the listing so you can clearly see the quality you can expect.

I never shy away from sharing detailed close-up images because I know how important those details are to buyers—and I’m confident in the quality of what I create.

Important: Z-seam appearance can vary depending on the filament color and finish.

About PLA Filament

PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a popular biodegradable thermoplastic made from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugarcane. It’s widely used in 3D printing because of its durability and ease of use in indoor environments.

However:

  • Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause warping over time.
  • Outdoor use is not recommended.
  • PLA is slightly porous and may gradually absorb moisture over extended periods.

To make these planters suitable for semi-hydroponic use, a layer of Flex Seal is applied to the inner base to create a watertight barrier and help prevent leakage over time.

(Flex Seal–treated surfaces are safe around plants and animals once fully cured.)

Post-Processing & Quality Control

To achieve the best possible finish, I carefully fine-tune print settings for every design. While current 3D printing technology cannot eliminate all minor imperfections, I take great pride in my work and never ship items with defects.

Every piece is thoroughly inspected before shipping, and if it doesn’t meet my standards, it is reprinted.

Because of the nature of 3D printing, slight imperfections may occasionally be present. To further refine the finish, light post-processing may be performed, including:

  • Filling small gaps
  • Smoothing minor imperfections
  • Light sanding for a cleaner finish

I’m constantly refining my process to deliver the highest quality possible.

If you are ever unsatisfied with your product, please reach out within 30 days and include photo references. If the issue is due to a quality oversight, I’ll gladly reprint and replace your item at no additional cost.
